The Spring Reunion held on May 3-4, 2013 in honor of Kerry J. Buchan, 32º KCCH was termed a success with 15 new members receiving the Master of the Royal Secret. A busy day and a half was enjoyed by both the candidates and the staff. Everyone put aside their usual activities and concentrated on delivering and receiving the conferred and communicated degrees. Thanks to those who worked so hard to make it the best for our candidates. You know who you are so give yourselves a pat on the back To our new members of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Savannah we bid you welcome.

Spaghetti Fundraiser is February 8, 2013.  This is our annual fundraising attempt to supplement the operating funds of the Valley of Savannah. Increased per capita tax and decline in membership make it next to impossible to run the valley on dues alone. We have this fundraiser each year in order to keep the dues at a minimum. Although we hold other fundraisers throughout the year to support our RiteCare Center, this one is strictly to support the Valley treasury.

This will be the eleventh annual spaghetti fundraiser and many of you have participated in each one of them. We find that those who participate continue to come back year after year to enjoy the activities of the event. It is really something to look forward to and is totally rewarding to work, watch and be involved.

Activities this year will again be held at the Woody Dyches Building at Alee Shrine Temple. Preparatory work will be accomplished on Thursday prior to the big day on Friday, February 8th. Dinners will be available from 11:00...

Annual Awards Night was held November 6, 2012. Twenty-five and Fiftyyear awards plus membership awards and Golden Eagle awards wewe presented to several members of the Valley of Savannah. Also, Ill Jimmy P.Smith, Jr., 33º, Personal Representative to SGIG was presented his 50 year Grand Lodge award by Ill. Clyde E. Griffin, 33º, Past Grand Master. An enjoyable evening preceded by a delicious dinner meal made this one of the year's most outstanding events.

The first annual Blue Lodge Ritual Tournament of Champions is now history. It was a most successful event and one that will be repeated many times in the years to come. Being the first attempt at such an affair we experienced a few minor obstacles that will be easily overcome next time around. Overall it was a great time of competition and camaraderie – totally inspirational.  Everyone received something for just being there and many received recognition certificates for their efforts. A very deserving honor (The William Livingston Travis Oratorical Skills Award) was presented to Brother Ervin D. Smith for his rendition of the Graveside Prayer. Ocean Lodge No. 214 won the Opening & Closing of a Lodge category. Other categories were well-contested and winners were announced at the awards ceremony following the competition.
